Company of heroes 3 publisher8/10/2023 ![]() ![]() Though by my definition the traditional MMORPG genre is dead, which it kind of is, but it also morphed into live services. I wouldn't say the genre is alive if perhaps a rudimentary hidden object game released every 3 years but I wouldn't say the same if it were a colony management game as an example. I say a year, but I think 2 or 3 years is fine if the could support than in some way. I would hope that means roughly one a year or half year. But that's a hypothetical.įor a genre to be alive it needs to have new games from various developers semi-regularly. It says all they care about is get-rich quick decision making, and that makes me worry that this release won't have the longevity of the first two- which is a shame, because with real support it would easily be better than 2 in multiplayer and even threatens 1.Įven if a genre gets one game a year, I'm not sure if I would consider it an alive genre if that one game is from the same developer doing the "same" thing. It's a bad, bad look to drop a cash shop patch on PC and then the very next thing you announce is a console release when the core game was released so prematurely and remains in a fairly dire state. ![]() I really like the foundation of this game, but it released too early and they're simply not treating it with the urgency it requires. It's completely sapped my enthusiasm to play, and CoH1 is a top-three all-time game for me (and this is much more like 1 than 2 in multiplayer I'm exactly the target audience). Since then they've released one patch that included a cash shop and barely touched balance, three weeks ago, and they're not even talking about balance till next week. The initial blitz of updates were really encouraging. They supported the hell out of this game for three weeks, and I was really optimistic about it because the baseline is so much better than CoH2 and that game ended up great. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
